Because of the charging case, AirPods typically have a battery life of up to a day. The Apple AirPods come in two varieties (2nd Generation).

A charging case is included with each of them. But the charging case of one variant has wireless charging, while the other doesn’t.

AirPods are charged only through the charging case, not directly from the power source. It is most likely that the charging case is to blame if an AirPod won’t charge.

If your AirPods aren’t charging, it’s likely a problem with the contact points.

Check for:

  • Connecting the USB cable to the source of power or port
  • Contact point for the Lightning Connector on the case
  • Contact points for AirPods on the carrying case

You may have a problem with one of these contact points or the battery. If your AirPods don’t charge or charge slowly.

The Fix for the Right Airpod Charging Problem

This problem can occur with any of these models. Regardless of whether they are original, 2nd generation, 3rd generation, or Pro. Where one AirPod will not recharge in the Charging Case.

It’s a regular problem that not only causes frustration. But it may also put a halt to your day’s activities.  Fortunately, most issues with the AirPods may be fixed at home.

Your AirPods mic may stop working from time to time. That’s also annoying! You don’t have to contact Apple or send them anything to get it fixed. Before everything else, follow these guidelines:

1. Take a look at the Charging Case’s Battery Level

The charging case is the most common culprit when the right AirPods won’t charge.  It won’t be capable of charging both AirPods. It happens when the case’s charge is much less than 10% of the charge,

Put the AirPods in the charging case and close the top to monitor the battery level. Bring the case nearer to your iPhone to open the lid.

The iPhone’s screen displays AirPods cards. It reveals how much battery the charging case and AirPods have left in their batteries.

2. Replace the AirPod

The earpiece may be sitting wrongly in the charging case. It isn’t making an adequate connection with the charging station.

Remove attachments, such as foam ear tips and attempt reinserting the AirPod. Do it if the charging icon doesn’t appear while putting the AirPods next to your iPhone.

When your iPhone shows charging but the battery percentage doesn’t, the AirPods may charge dirty connections. It may also be necessary to clean the charging case thoroughly and AirPod stem.

3. Wipe Down AirPods & Charging Cases

The most common cause of an AirPod not recharging is unclean charging connections. This impedes the flow of electricity, but you may fix it by following the instructions below.

Wipe the stem of the AirPods with a clean, lint-free cloth to remove any debris. Concentrate on the silver contacts on the end while cleaning.

Use a gingival brush or other similar tools to clean the internal points of contact. Do it for each AirPod bay inside the charging case. This completes the procedure.

Q-tips dipped in isopropyl alcohol will work wonders if you run into tough junk. Ensure you don’t spray the alcohol or water straight on your phone case!

If you use your AirPods regularly, you should clean them every week. Restore and maintain good contact between both the AirPods and the charging case.

4. AirPods Reset

There is a reset button on the original AirPods series. If you’re having issues with them, this can be useful when the right AirPod doesn’t charge:

  • Open the lid after a 30-second wait.
  • Select your AirPods from the Bluetooth list by tapping the circled I icon.
  • Touch Forget This Device once again to confirm your decision.

When you open the AirPods cover, the status light should be peeking amber. Push and hold the case button for roughly 15 seconds.

You can tell whether your AirPods case’s charging by checking the status light between the AirPods. For AirPods Pro and wireless charging cases, the status light can be found on the front of the cases.

That concludes our discussion. After resetting, the AirPods will no longer detect any devices related to your iCloud account.

Then begin the setup procedure. Your charge issue might be rectified by resetting your device. The same procedure applies here as resetting a power bank.

5. Contact Apple and Get New Batteries

If your right AirPod doesn’t charge after following the above fixes. Then the battery in your right AirPod is dead.

Charging the other AirPod shows that the charging case and other equipment are working correctly. Only the right side of the body is affected by this problem.

As a result, the battery is most likely dead. For battery replacement, contact Apple’s customer service.

Apple will replace any defective AirPods covered by its warranty at no cost to the customer. Repairs will then be your responsibility if they fall outside the warranty period.

The battery replacement for one AirPod is estimated to cost around $50. Depending on your financial situation, you can either replace or purchase.

Another option is to have a professional inspect your right AirPod. A simple patch may suffice in the absence of a complete replacement.

The majority of AirPods owners have issues with charging. While listening to music, their battery life is typically 5 hours. When making phone calls, it is reduced to two hours.

It’s important to know immediately if your new AirPods are operating correctly or not. Contact Apple if your battery life keeps getting worse.

It’s possible to get a free and speedy repair in this manner. Your AirPods, on the other hand, need to be taken care of. Clean and organise all parts, keep them dry, and ensure they’re charged on schedule.
